Finish: Very natural looking with a subtle dewy sheen.
Formula: Lightweight cream.
Good For: Most skin types including sensitive, normal, combination and dry. Very oily skin might find this formula a bit too moisturizing.
Robin’s Take: This foundation is a staple in the Beauty Is Boring studio and in my personal makeup bag. I was actually introduced to it by a celebrity client, the eternally gorgeous Demi Moore. Aside from her many other talents, Demi is a beauty aficionado. One afternoon, while prepping for a red carpet event, Demi asked me to use this amazing foundation she had recently discovered. It turned out to be the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation and I’ve been a fan ever since.
The coverage is sheer to medium and leaves a perfect “your skin but better” finish. It’s also great for sensitive skin (mine!), is not tested on animals, gluten free and formulated without artificial colors, synthetic fragrance and parabens. The shade range is a bit limited but they seem to be expanding.
Pro Tips & Tricks: You don’t need a ton of product (hence the small tube), just dot on a tiny amount in the center of your face and work your way outward. I prefer to apply with a foundation brush and then blend with my fingers.
