I’ve been attempting to organize my Polaroids and in the process, keep stumbling on images that I never posted but probably should have. ?Among them was this one which had the words?”lipstick bandit”?scribbled on the back. ?And JP (Jennifer Pugh), I miss your face. ?We are seriously overdue for another play date.
Since I can’t remember the exact color I used to create the bandit mask, here is a list of my five favorite orange-red lipsticks for Summer 2013.
1: Rouge Dior in Ara Red
It’s my go-to classic and makes it on all of my favorite product lists (see my Red Roundup from last June). A close runner-up is Rouge Dior in Blazing Red which is a shade lighter and more orange.
2: Chanel Rouge Allure in Coromandel
A very iconic?color?(think?old Hollywood glamour)?with a luxurious texture.
3: Tom Ford Lip Color in Wild Ginger
This shade is more orange than red but layered over a neutral red lipliner (such as MAC’s Redd), it’s gorgeous on a bronzed face.
4: NARS Semi Matte Lipstick in Heat Wave
Another tried and true favorite, this intense color is not for the shy. Try layering over a bright orange lip pencil for an almost neon version (be brave and use?MAC’s What a Blast).
5: YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Le Orange
A sophisticated shade with a satin finish, this lipstick is easy to blot down into a stain if you prefer.
6: I know, I said this was a list of five but I recently added another tube to my arsenal? Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Matte Lip Color in Jenna.?It’s a great everyday color for Summer.
* No orange-red list would be complete without MAC’s Lady Danger but considering that I said five, then gave you six? seven seemed excessive so here it is as an honorable mention.
