I’ve always loved the 1920’s… ?the look was?sexy, a bit gothic, playful and innocent! ?It was a decade of decadence and social change. ?Along with the right to vote, women began to openly display an independence that was shocking given the conventions of the previous era. ?Gone were the corsets, the ornate hats and long hair twisted into intricate updos. ?Chic women of the time – like Lee Miller and Coco Chanel – opted for a menswear twist on style that was reflected in their hair cuts. ?Today, the idea that a hair cut or shift in hemline could be revolutionary is almost laughable, but back then it was an outright statement of defiance. ?Mariko’s delicate features and Louise Brooks inspired bob lend themselves perfectly to this 1920’s look!
