I love a good cat eye! It’s a classic look that feels modern and there is a flattering shape for almost every eye. This simple line can be tough, sexy, cool, innocent, playful, gamine, mysterious and all those other adjectives that we yearn for. ?The secret is to find the shape that resonates with your style and fits your eye. ?I could easily write a dissertation on the varieties of shape and techniques for creating the perfect line but I’ll resist and just offer a few thoughts:
1: Don’t be afraid to go bold, its just make-up and it wipes right off.
2: Find your medium? some people prefer liquid liners with fine points (Hourglass does an amazing one), others like a thin brush and gel liner (Bobbi Brown and MAC make great gel liners) and occasionally, I find someone who does it with wet eyeshadow.
3: If the outer corners of your eye slope downward, stop the line a few lashes short of the corner and angle up for an instant lift.
4: Practice makes perfect! ?I rarely wear make up but I can apply my signature cat eye shape with a brush while driving my car (this was done by a trained professional on a closed course, do not attempt).
5: Let’s take a moment to appreciate the exotic Bruna Tenorio? the tilted eyes, the high cheekbones, the aristocratic arch of her nose, the shapely lips? her gorgeous face practically demands a dramatic cat eye.
